Pilgrims Hall Presents: Growing a Culture of Care in the Local Church Friendship in an Age of Loneliness 13th February 2026

In a time of growing loneliness and complex pastoral needs, these two sessions invite church leaders and members alike to reflect on how God calls His people to care well for one another.

Pilgrims Hall Presents a Session for Church Leaders:

Growing a culture of care in the local church

Our loving God calls us to love those around us in His name. Scripture describes this as sharing in lives, weeping with those who weep, rejoicing with those who rejoice and encouraging each other to good works, whilst speaking the truth in all circumstances of life. But how do we do this in practice? In this afternoon event, we will be exploring how church leaders can envision, equip and structure the local church to enable every member to thrive.

This one off session will be presented by Helen Thorne-Allenson from Biblical Counselling UK. Helen is an experienced speaker and author whose recent books include Hope in an Anxious World, Walking with Domestic Abuse Sufferers, Real Change and Mental Health and Your Church.

Come and explore what the Bible says on the topic of friendship—and discover God’s call to a better community.

This one off session will be presented by Helen Thorne-Allenson from Biblical Counselling UK. Helen is an experienced speaker and author whose recent books include Hope in an Anxious World, Walking with Domestic Abuse Sufferers, Real Change and Mental Health and Your Church.
